These people were playing music on the square yard and I tried to focus on one person in the group which gives the viewers a more intimate connection. You can also see other tourists in the background, and is almost unavoidable in a busy square, but it gives the picture more authentic feel.

When I saw this child playing in a courtyard, my immediate thought was that the lighting was perfect. I included the bamboo scaffolding in the foreground which gives the picture more depth and a sense of the surrounding area. The vertical bamboo pole was aligned with the wall in the background to form perfect geometry.

The renowned war photographer Robert Capa once said ”If your pictures aren’t good enough, you are not close enough.” I always keep this in mind and try my best to get close to the subject as possible. I took several shots of this street vendor, trying to find the best angle and this one turned out to be the one I like. You can also see a customer handing out money for the purchase.

I came across this woman selling vegetables in a corner store but thought the photo will be more interesting if I waited for a person to walk past in order to fill the void on the right side of the frame. As the woman gaze falls on the boy, it makes the story more interesting.
